- What I did for my group was simply contributing to the trebuchet construction. I was also in charge of the website, so I posted the questions and necessary photos, including the tinkercad design. At the very end, I was in charge of getting the videos together and posting youtube versions of them for the website.
- What I learned during this project was the physics behind constructing it. I realized that the trebuchet only performs in certain modifications, such as the string become loose when it reaches a certain height. Also, the nail modifies the angle which will determine its trajectory.
- My favorite parts of the project was constructing the actual trebuchet. It was interesting because of the new experience and understanding how it works. There was a strong sense of creativity throughout all the projects, and there were also frustrations through failed trails.
- My least favorite parts of the project would be the website. There were many difficulties with the website because it was new and was not perfect. Only one person could edit the website at a time. Also, the website posts did not always show up and we ended up losing a few information.
- Yes, our trebuchet worked as well as we expected. In the beginning, we had already held high expectations for our trebuchet, which we had ended with the 2nd longest distance held in our class.
- What I think would make our trebuchet much better would be replacing the metal rod with something much stronger. That way, the trebuchet can use even higher weights that will be supported with a stronger rod. Higher weights would create a much stronger momentum for the ball.
- Our trebuchet was not efficient. Throughout all the several trials, there were many failures. The failures consisted of the ball going backwards, or the ball rolling off. Although, we did had few successes. Yet, the successes were not consistent, going off at different distances. How I think we could improve this efficiency would be making the material stronger and/or making the trebuchet bigger.
- Overall, I feel satisfied with the project, the results and my participation in it. I feel like the project is a fun thing about physics, and our trebuchet performed pretty well. My group and I worked hard and contributed evenly to the trebuchet, which makes me satisfied with my participation towards it.
